This glass sculpture series served as an early material experiment preceding the development of the xuan-paper sculptures. By using generative AI, the project tested whether digital tools could successfully apply unconventional materials—such as glass—to imagined forms, while retaining artistic integrity. The transparent and fragile qualities of glass allowed me to explore questions of compatibility between emerging AI-driven aesthetics and traditional Chinese sensibilities. In this sense, the work became a critical step toward confirming that generative AI could extend beyond mere surface effects to engage with cultural aesthetics, preparing the ground for later experiments with xuan-paper as a primary medium.
